The importance of knowing the layout of a landing area has never been questioned. From students to out of town jumpers rolling in for the upcoming event and everywhere in between, making sure skydivers are aware of the mains, alternates, and hazards has sometimes been a tough task. And the consequences of not knowing this info can be dire.
SSK and CYPRES want to help, and we’re offering up to a 10′ banner style map, designed specifically for your Dropzone, and we’re offering them for FREE.
These banners are meant to be a reliable reference tool at your Dropzone: easy to spot, easy to understand, and available for everyone to use.
These banners can include:
- Main landing areas
- Student landing areas
- Hazards (trees, power lines, water, buildings, etc.)
- Off-limit zones
- Emergency outs
- Runway orientation and wind indicators
- Common landing patterns
- Plus any custom notes or guidelines your DZ staff would like to include
These banners are printed on durable, weather-resistant material and designed to be hung inside your hangar, manifest, or any common area where jumpers plan their landings and debrief.
Optional Upgrade
All banners come with grommets for easy hanging. If you would like a more permanent display solution, Lind SignSpring offers their BannerFrameCLASSIC system. Why Are We Doing This?
We believe that access to good information helps everyone make safer decisions, especially in high-consequence sports like skydiving. A well-designed map can clarify a lot in a single glance, and helps reduce the chance of confusion or mistakes, especially for newer jumpers or those visiting a new DZ for the first time.
SSK and CYPRES have a long history of safety standards in our sport, and continuing to keep the bar high is one of our main priorities.
How Can Your Dropzone Get One?
It’s simple! We’re currently offering these custom banners at no cost to dropzones. We’ll handle the design, printing, and shipping.
If you run or manage a Dropzone and would like one for your location, just follow these steps:

- Provide us a high-quality aerial image of your Dropzone’s landing area, zoomed out to include potential outs and hazards.
- Tell us about your DZ’s layout, provide an additional image of the DZ with markups, these can be hand drawn or added in digitally. Please include:
– Main landing areas and student areas
– Any hazards or off-limit areas
– Emergency outs
– Runway Orientation
– Anything specific you want highlighted or labeled
– Dropzone logos or any additional information you would like to be included
- We’ll create a draft map professionally designed by our graphic designer for your review.
- Once we have your approval, we’ll print and ship your banner for FREE!
- Install your banner, send us some pictures, and/or tag us on social media. We love to see the final results and have examples to show other Dropzones who could also benefit from having their own custom DZ banner.
